Heavier Than a Church Tower in Shifting Sands

Midwestern black metal masters False and Baton Rouge cvltists Barghest have recorded a split together for Gilead Media, and it’s now streaming online. “Heavy as a Church Tower” is False’s third-ever recorded song and in typical fashion it’s long, weaving, and painfully aggressive in the best possible way. Barghest’s offerings are more traditional and raw, and take up half of the split with two 8+ minutes tracks entitled “Shifting Sands” and “Inhuman Hatred.” The split is available on vinyl via Gilead on August 21st and pre-orders will start at the end of July here.

False’s track is streaming over at Decibel and along with this split they announced their first full tour, covering the USA from coast to coast and every decrepit outpost in-between this Fall. Dates are continually being updated at Gilead’s blog.
